17:04:25 <PieroV> Hi everybody, this is the apps team's weekly office hour
17:04:47 <PieroV> We'll be around to address topics raised by people for a while
17:04:52 <Jeremy_Rand_Lab19[mds]> Good afternoon everyone!
17:05:10 <PieroV> Even though while this is logged, we're available for much longer in #tor-browser-dev
17:06:41 <Jeremy_Rand_Lab19[mds]> A brief follow up to my comments from last week about onion TLS things. Some more PR's have been merged to the various repos I maintain for that work. The main new thing is that while last week the state of merged code was "AIA only" (AIA is the protocol that Chromium-like browsers use for this), as of 3 days ago I have also merged the PKCS#11 equivalent (PKCS#11 is the equivalent protocol that's used by Firefox-like
17:06:41 <Jeremy_Rand_Lab19[mds]> browsers).
17:08:43 <Jeremy_Rand_Lab19[mds]> I also did some tests to see what the limits are on the size of stapled data imposed by Firefox. Looks like we can staple up to a limit that's somewhere between 32 KB and 34 KB. In the case of onion TLS, that would mainly hold a public key. Given that even a PQ Dilithium-5 pubkey (even when hex-encoded) is way smaller than that, it looks like the limits will definitely not be a problem for us.
17:08:44 <PieroV> Nice :)
17:10:05 <Jeremy_Rand_Lab19[mds]> Meanwhile I have some exciting news about SocksTrace but it's embargoed right now, so I will PM some of you with the details (most likely later today).
17:27:49 <PieroV> Cool, does anyone have anything else to discuss?
17:27:59 <PieroV> Otherwise we could close this in a few minutes
17:28:03 <Jeremy_Rand_Lab19[mds]> Nothing from my end.
17:32:16 <PieroV> Cool, thank you! Have a nice week!
