16:15:17 <darkk> I had a talk at regional RIPE meeting (ENOG) about OONI and blockcheck using Egyptian case as an example of careless DPI deployment, it may lead to some new data coming from Ukraine where blocking the intrenetz is a Big New Deal. And may not. It's unclear if initial excitement will produce anything meaningful :)

16:19:46 <darkk> anadahz: no, and AFAIK Tor is used as a circumvention "backend" for custom browsers shipped by one of the blocked entities. I've not looked at this browser's traffic myself as I have no network vantage point in UA, but that's what people say.
16:22:16 <darkk> probably people shipping this browser are trying to abuse Ukrainian idea of democracy when blocking mail.ru looks like "embargo against Russia" and blocking Tor is "non-democratic movement and sliding towards censorship".
