Nick mentioned some guard tickets that had no owners were removed by me from the 029 release -- i would like help from folks on identifying them and making sure they have owners and are in the release. 16:59:54 2. Thanks for filling up the pad for the work we can be proposing in grants -- a little bit more information would be helpful, is hard for me to understand the impact/cost/urgency with just few words describing the task. asn hs/mobile is a good example of how more info would be helpful (btw I moved things around and hs/mobile is at the end of the pad now) 17:00:47 those are two big asks for me -- things are still very stressful these days but I hope it will end when august ends :) 17:00:52 that's it for me 17:00:56 anyone else? 17:01:59 asn: around? 17:02:00 dgoulet: around? 17:02:14 I am hi! 17:02:18 yo! 17:02:58 last week, on friday, I finally put #17238 in needs_review, it's a big milestone because it's around 18 points in tickets and big step for prop224 17:03:21 I got a review from asn this morning so I'm currently fixing that. I ran over some tickets from review-group-7 this morning! 17:03:44 that's about it for me, most of my time was dedicated to finishing #17238 17:03:45 -- 17:04:04 cool, is a lot -- do you need more folks helping with review there? 17:04:14 18points is a lot to review 17:04:42 hi 17:04:53 isabela: yeah... for now I have asn since HS :) but after that we'll need more for sure, usually nickm's review are quite extensive on those big patches which takes sometimes to fix 17:05:08 isabela: but for now only asn is better, else I get thrown too much stuff at the same time 17:05:15 ok 17:05:51 cool, Yawning do you have any updates? 17:06:35 uh 17:06:42 working on some of the multithreading stuff 17:07:31 dunno 17:07:50 do you think is ok to estimate that basket2 would be finished by mid oct? 17:07:55 no 17:07:57 ? 17:08:13 because I'm forced to split my attention 17:08:18 between core tor and working on that 17:08:27 ok 17:08:38 I mean 17:08:43 if that's more important 17:08:44 what about mid nov? 17:08:53 I don't know? 17:09:02 It depends on how much other stuff I need to do 17:09:19 well is part of a deliverable of sponsors, which ends at the end of nov 17:10:01 (i am not saying deployed in tbb, just a workable basket2 pt) 17:10:24 what's there is a workable pt, but I want to change a bunch of stuff 17:10:30 it still needs to be documented 17:10:39 probably other things I'm not thinking about right now 17:11:32 so by the loosest of criteria "it's done, bu tnot deployable, and might end up being quite different from what;'s deployed" 17:12:39 ok we should review some of the sponsor-s tickets that are assigned to you (the controllers stuff) when nick is back 17:13:06 lets chat more about it offmeeting? 17:13:37 uh sure 17:13:59 thanks 17:14:51 any other udpates? 17:15:55 asn: ping? 17:16:00 athena: ping? 17:18:11 looks like not that many people are around 17:19:08 seems so 17:20:13 i would need asn or athena to help with the guard tickets for 029 17:20:34 I saw lots of ticket being created last week about it, that's the extent I know :S 17:21:09 Yawning: maybe we can go over what is assigned to you on 029 and remove somethings there so you have more time for basket2 17:21:51 i also need more info on the things ppl put in the pad.. but i guess that might be easier to communicate via email list since the meeting is quite empty today 17:22:31 isabela: do you have a strip down list or you want lots more details on each of the items? 17:23:18 just a little bit more detail on the listed items 17:23:39 like why is important to do the item would help 17:24:05 for example: - Improve infrastructure for padding; test some basic padding. 17:24:10 isabela: i'm planning to do some of the guard tickets; nickm is probably doing some too 17:24:19 athena: hi! 17:24:25 hi! 17:24:43 athena: nickm mentioned I moved them out of the release, which probably happened because they had no owners 17:25:01 athena: is there a way i can find them and put them back in? 17:25:41 dgoulet: i dont know how to explain the importance of that -- how more padding helps etc 17:26:22 i set up #19877 as a parent ticket; you can find them all from there 17:26:28 awesome 17:26:54 isabela: I see, in that case I have no clue but I can try to fill in the one I have an idea/opinion for 17:27:05 that would help a lot already! 17:27:22 on it 17:27:25 thanks 17:27:28 yo 17:27:32 athena: do you wan to share updates? 17:27:36 asn: yo 17:27:38 sorry im late 17:27:50 preparing update 17:28:55 update: revisions after code review on #8625 and #18640; wooot 17:31:12 Hello. During last week I mainly worked on prop224 implementation (#19043). I 17:31:13 did code review on #19024, and I also started reviewing the monster branch 17:31:13 #17238 which is lined up for 029 (!). Let's see if we can hit that deadline. 17:31:13 The upcming week I plan to continue working on the above two tasks since they 17:31:13 are both quite huge. 17:32:13 ha that reminds me about a discussion point :) -- should we change freeze date to mid sept or mid oct (i think oct is better) 17:32:14 On the topic of guards, chelsea_komlo from thoughtwoks contacted me and told me that they are attending the dev meeting and are excited to work on stuff with us. We should probably do a session/meeting with them at some point. 17:32:49 yes, we should organize that in the wiki - fyi first day, monday is just hacking day afaik 17:33:53 oh 17:34:11 tues, wed are gunner days, thursday is open day -- from what i heard 17:34:33 ah that's perfect for this purpose 17:34:47 asn: are they familiar with the parent ticket athena created? 17:35:05 one day preparation before Gunner is actually wise I think! 17:35:11 :) 17:35:15 there is such ticket? i'm not familiar myself :( 17:35:28 * asn reads backlog 17:35:41 #19877 17:36:45 oh wow nice 17:37:00 let's see if i can batch CC myself to all of those 17:37:14 cool 17:37:21 so back to the freeze date 17:38:31 giving the fact that we have the dev meeting at the end of sept, i think we would benefit a lot by having release freeze after that 17:38:36 (hmm maybe im missing permissions to do batch modify?) 17:38:42 isabela: i can see that yes. 17:39:11 i'm personally fine with moving the release date. of course i'd first like to hear nickm's opinion as well 17:39:11 isabela: +1 17:39:33 asn: nickm suggested either mid sept or mid oct 17:39:44 mid oct sounds good to me 17:39:52 i agree that the dev meetign will really help in this case 17:39:57 i think f2f interactions at dev meeting can help solve pending issues to get stuff done for the release 17:40:01 yeah 17:41:07 asn: i was missing batch modify power and i refreshed it and it came back.. not sure why,how.. 17:41:26 i batch modified the tickets successfully as well!\ 17:41:37 athena: i will be on the lookout for any needs_review or comments in those tickets. 17:41:49 ok i will let the rest of the team knows that we are moving the date and update the wiki as well 17:42:23 anything else anyone wants to talk about? 17:43:02 isabela: wait should we make sure with nickm for the release date? 17:43:02 if you missed in the backlog -- i asked help on having a little bit more info about the ideas we can put on grants that folks listed in the pad 17:43:15 ah "nickm suggested either mid sept or mid oct" 17:43:17 ok 17:43:20 ye 17:43:21 yeah 17:43:27 he replied in the email list 17:43:34 good 17:44:37 ok, 13min till tor browser meeting 17:44:47 any other topics? 17:46:37 im ok. 17:46:40 looking forward to the dev meeting 17:47:05 o/ 17:47:18 me too! 17:47:20 alright folks 17:47:37 #endmeeting
